Pure Signature: a new brand to discover

Frédéric Badie, a developer at Payan Bertrand, has just launched Pure Signature, a new brand offering a set of 100 per cent Grasse-sourced ingredients for creating your own fragrance. Addictive.

A kit for making your own perfume or massage oil using four base notes: rose, vanilla-tonka, frankincense or patchouli. 100 per cent natural ingredients developed by Payan Bertrand.This is the idea brought to life by Frédéric Badie, a perfumer and developer at the Grasse-based company, who has just launched his brand, ‘Pure Signature’, crafted from these 100 per cent Grasse-sourced absolutes. Alongside two partners: Jean-Philippe Kukma and Willy Châtaignier.

TWELVE INGREDIENTS TO SUIT YOUR MOOD

In these black and green gift sets, named ‘Ma signature’, 12 small vials contain extracts to allow the balanced formula to evolve into more musky, woody, spicy or vanilla-based versions, and so on.

“Thanks to these natural blends – signature products distilled or sourced from Payan Bertrand – you can create a fragrance to suit your tastes. Eight formulas are printed directly onto the lid of the box. Measuring and blending are simple: just follow the recipe and pour 100 drops of your chosen blend into a 100ml bottle,” explains Frédéric Badie, who developed the formulas himself: around thirty are available on the Pure Signature website.

With these sets – which are as fun as they are creative and can be topped up when a bottle runs out – Pure Signature is targeting two audiences: the private individual, who will be able to discover the mystery of natural fragrances, “connecting directly with the scents of plants. ‘and immerse themselves in the terroir of the Grasse region.’ And the niche perfumer, who ‘will be able to explore the range of 60 100 per cent natural ingredients from Payan Bertrand’, explains Frédéric Badie.

OPEN DAY ON 30 APRIL

“I champion this immersion in pure natural extracts. I want it to allow people to connect with the fields and discover the expertise that is so characteristic of Grasse. And also to tap into the symbolism of Grasse: the flower in all its natural splendour,” says Frédéric Badie, explaining the philosophy behind his brand-new label, whose range of 80 products (perfumes, home fragrances, absolutes from the Grasse region, massage oils) will be officially launched on 29 April.

The following day, Saturday 30 April, Frédéric Badie will be hosting an open day for the general public at 11 Avenue Saint-Exupéry in Grasse.
